Overview

As one of the nation's leading electric transmission line construction companies, MasTec Power Delivery companies engineer and construct efficient and reliable electrical transmission, distribution, and substation & switchyard systems. Our extensive workforce includes both union and nonunion teams, which, combined with our specialized equipment fleet, allows us to effectively meet our clients' needs for power delivery, emergency restoration, and ongoing maintenance. We've been involved in some of the most challenging and recognizable electric projects across the U.S. From the electric plant to the end users, MasTec's experienced managers and crews consistently deliver transmission, distribution, and substation & switchyard services with an unfailing commitment to safety, integrity, and sustainable practices.  

The Drawing Coordinator is responsible for the receipt, quality review, logging, distribution, and archival of all engineering drawings produced on the program. This role serves as the authoritative source for current drawing status and ensures that all project stakeholders are working from approved, current documentation at all times.

Salary range :$70-85k per year depending one experience 


Responsibilities
Drawing Log Management
  • Maintain Greenlink’s Master Drawing Register, including drawing number, title, revision, status, discipline, and date of issue
  • Ensure the drawing log is current, accurate, and accessible to authorized stakeholders at all times
  • Generate drawing log reports on a defined cadence for use in program reporting and leadership review
Quality Assurance – Incoming Drawings
  • Review all incoming engineering drawings for completeness, correct titling, numbering conventions, revision sequencing, and conformance to program standards prior to acceptance into the controlled document environment
  • Return non-conforming submittals to the originating party with documented deficiency notices
  • Track resubmittals and confirm resolution prior to final acceptance
Document Control & Version Management
  • Enforce revision control protocols to ensure superseded drawings are retired and clearly marked
  • Manage role-based access permissions in coordination with the project management team
Distribution & Transmittals
  • Issue and distribute controlled drawings per the program’s distribution matrix
  • Prepare, send, and log all formal transmittals for outgoing and incoming drawing packages
  • Confirm receipt and acknowledgment from receiving parties as required
Submittal & RFI Coordination Support
  • Coordinate routing of drawing submittals and track review status through the approval workflow
  • Support routing of Requests for Information (RFIs) related to drawing conflicts or clarifications
Records & Archival
  • Maintain organized drawing archives throughout all project phases – design, construction, and closeout
  • Compile and deliver as-built and record drawing sets at project milestones and final closeout
Reporting & Process Improvement
  • Produce regular drawing status reports and metrics for program leadership
  • Identify and escalate documentation risks, gaps, or non-conformances
  • Recommend and implement improvements to drawing control processes, workflows, and systems

Qualifications
Education
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering Technology, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience will be considered
Experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing engineering drawings across multiple disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.)
  • 3 years minimum relevant experience
  • Experience with a formal Common Data Environment or document management system (e.g., Procore, Aconex, Unifier, ProjectSight, or equivalent)
Technical Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and understand standard drawing conventions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills required for log management and reporting
