Job description

Document Control Manager

The Document Designer/Controller is responsible for the preparation or modification of detailed, technical, scale drawings, ensuring compliance with standards, specifications, codes and regulations using computer aided design and drafting methods. Additionally, this person will ensure proper storage and organization (digital and physical) of plant equipment and design records.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field walkdowns in various weather conditions to gather information to create and/or confirm as-built Piping drawings in the plant/production facility (approximately 10โ€“15% of the time; may increase during heavy project periods)
  • Generate PFD's, P&ID's, 3D modelling, plot plans, details, and ISOs
  • Demonstrate a working understanding of a chemical manufacturing site
  • Effectively communicate and work with engineers and construction crews to successfully complete projects
  • Successfully complete small, fast-paced projects on time and on budget
  • Work in a team environment, taking direction from department leads and efficiently prioritizing work to produce timely and correct project deliverables.
  • Work with Engineers and Contractors to assign and physically identify equipment numbers for new and existing assets.
  • Knowledge and Organization of Piping Line and Specialty Item Lists
  • Maintain Line Number and Instrument/Equipment Tag Number Master Database
  • Revise drawings and markups when necessary.
  • Management of filing and maintaining hard copy drawings.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and protocols
  • All other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Great Communication Skills
  • Working with Various Departments (Technical, Fixed, Operations, Capital, etc.)
  • General Knowledge of Industry Piping Design Standards and Ability to Familiarize and Apply Plant Standards, as Required
  • Attention to Detail
  • Independently Driven

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in CAD or related field preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years Piping design experience in the Chemical industry
  • Proficiency with applicable codes and standards
  • Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD Plant 3D and/or Cadworx 3D required (AutoCAD 2026 or earlier versions acceptable)
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Interview Process:

  • Two rounds, preferably in person: 1. Initial one on one screening based on resume. 2. Panel interview for final selection.
