Job description

Wharton-Smith, Inc is currently seeking an experiencedย Project Superintendent I withย Commercial backgroundย for theย Pensacola, FLย area.ย  In this role, the successful candidate will Supervise Commercial Construction project or work on a team with lead Superintendent.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide field supervision and execution of project safety, administration, schedule, and quality control
  • Monitor the project to ensure a safe, secure, clean, and orderly jobsite and proper administration of safety policies
  • Ensure quality standards are met or exceeded
  • Plan, schedule, inspect, and supervise all work at the project site
  • Develop and manage short-term schedules, including manpower and equipment resources
  • Complete projects within established time and budget constraints Coordinate subcontractors and lead subcontractor meetings
  • Coordinate permit and regulatory inspections
  • Participate in owner, design team, and post-construction review meetings
  • Communicate project progress, issues, and changes in scope to the Project Manager
  • Maintain field document control, including daily reports, progress photographs, and accurate quantity reporting and timekeeping
  • Manage material handling, including receiving, inventory, storage, and spare parts
  • Oversee small tool management
  • Support jobsite hiring as required
  • Maintain and update As-Built drawings
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of contract documents
  • Work collaboratively with the project team and assist the direct supervisor in all field operations.

Technical Skills:

  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Working with project management apps, project scheduling apps and project document apps.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and basic building code regulations.
  • Strong communications skills and ability to direct trade partner crews.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma
  • 10-year commercial construction experience in field supervision position.
  • Experience with concrete, steel, PEMB construction.
  • Knowledge of site development and underground infrastructure.
  • Appropriate supervisory experience.
  • Good communication and people skills.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Current training as Competent Person in Trenching, Scaffolds, Rigging, Confined Space, and Fall Protection.
  • Current in OSHA 10-hour, First Aid & CPR, SWPPP Inspector, silica, Risk Management, and Accident training.
  • History of successful completion of multi-million-dollar projects.
