Job description

G.A. West & Co. is seeking a Safety Document Control Specialist. This is a full-time, long term career opportunity working from our home office location in Creola, Alabama. Typical Monday-Friday schedule. Prior experience with data entry, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office suite is required. Prior experience with cloud-based software programs is preferred.
Responsibilities/Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
  • Ability to relate positively with co-employees, supervisors, and upper management
  • Detail-driven, analytical, and eager to learn new things
  • Receive safety documents via email or hand-delivery
  • Review documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Scan documents in via scanner for indexing as needed
  • Attend safety and DocuWare meetings
  • Index safety documents into both Docuware and R Drive
  • Assign corrections as needed for any incorrect or incomplete documents
  • Pull reports and documentation as needed related to safety documents
  • Index and file safety training documents as needed. Assist with printing safety documents/training materials as needed. Assist with safety meetings, events, etc.
  • Assist safety department with administrative tasks as needed
  • Communicate with safety management, safety coordinators and field supervision about documentation, DocuWare, etc. Help these groups to fill out their documents correctly and with DocuWare training and questions.
  • Answers to the Safety Document Control Lead and the Director of Document Control, Data Collection, and Safety Compliance.
