The Quality Assurance Coordinator ensures that quality processes are well-documented, compliant with regulations, and effectively communicated within the organization. This role contributes to maintaining a high standard of quality in products or services through meticulous documentation management.The QA coordinator supports the compliance with Grupo Bimbo Global Standards and GFSI certification programs, and ensures the safety, quality, and legality of the food products.This role actively promotes a strong Food Safety Culture by reinforcing employee awareness, encouraging reporting of food safety concerns, supporting continuous improvement, and modeling behaviors that protect product safety and consumer trust.Responsibilities:Oversee the creation, review, and maintenance of quality assurance documents, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, quality manuals, and specifications.Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with regulatory requirements.Monitor and ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards.Establish and maintain a robust document control system, ensuring version control, access permissions, and traceability.Participate in internal and external QAFS audits to ensure compliance with documented procedures.Assist in preparing for and participating in external audits from regulatory bodies or customers.Assist in the preparation of documentation and responses for audits.Investigate and document non-conformances, deviations, and customer complaints.Collaborate with relevant departments to implement corrective and preventive actions.Coordinate the approval and release of new or revised documents.Educate relevant staff to ensure understanding and adherence to documentation processes.Identify opportunities for process improvement in documentation and quality management systems.Assists in QA laboratory daily tasks as needed. Control of chemicals used in the QA Lab, which includes inventory and waste handling.Assist with testing for finished products, product in process, ingredients, and packaging materials according to specifications as well as finished product scoring as needed.Oversee the product scoring program sessions at national office level.Support administrative tasks such as KPI reports on a weekly basis.Support the compliance of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Quality & Food Safety guidelines.Promote and support a positive Food Safety Culture by encouraging employee engagement, timely communication of food safety concerns, adherence to GMPs, and continuous improvement of food safety practices.Support the compliance with company safety rules and procedures including reports to the management team of any unsafe conditions.Verify and maintain records of Critical Control Point (CCP).Perform PCQI record verification.Support departmental and organizational needs by performing additional duties as assigned by management.Associate degree or equivalent courses and work experience in Food Science.Proven experience in a quality assurance documentation role, preferably in a regulated industry.Strong understanding of quality management systems and regulatory requirements.Knowledge of document control principles and practices.Familiarity with quality auditing processes.PCQI, HACCP and/or SQF certification.Computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and Windows environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating professionally and effectively.Ability to receive communication from others and handle.Ability to work as an integral part of the team.Team building skills / develop good workplace relationships.Problem solving.High level of integrity.Meticulousness and detail-oriented skills.Analytical thinking skills.Good knowledge of the implementation of policies and procedures.Planning and organizing skills.Bilingual (English and Spanish). #J-18808-Ljbffr
