SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Safety Operations Manager, the Safety Coordinator will assist in ensuring that all AnMed Health facilities are in compliance with regulatory agency standards and requirements. The Safety Coordinator will ensure timely administration and coordination of the workers' compensation program. The Safety Coordinator will determine if safety hazards exist and when necessary will recommend corrective actions. The Safety Coordinator will perform audits and inspections, evaluating risk and assist in evaluation of departmental safety efforts and practices. The Safety Coordinator will assist and support AnMed Health and affiliated parties Emergency and Disaster Preparedness Programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures compliance with federal and state guidelines and regulations.
• Assist in AnMed and affiliated parties Emergency & Disaster Preparedness program. Works with Anderson County/Pickens County Emergency Management and First Responders to ensure annual South Carolina DHEC reporting requirements are completed accurately and timely (Critical Data Sheets, Emergency Evacuation Plans, etc).
• Coordinates and performs safety inspections for all AnMed sites. Initiate corrective actions and follow up to ensure compliance. • Coordinates and participates in responsive accident investigations and loss control programs.
• Plans, develops, implements and evaluates drills and exercises to ensure AnMed emergency management preparedness.
• Serves as lead representative for worker safety, workers compensation and emergency management for AnMed Cannon.
• Performs duties associated with AnMed's Workers' Compensation program (such as claims documentation) in an efficient and thorough manner, and in compliance with applicable law. Conveys courtesy, confidentiality and professionalism to injured workers, and to affected AnMed departments. • Assist in the maintenance of the document control system for Code Plans and Safety Policies & Procedures.
• Facilitates New Employee Safety Orientation (2X monthly).
• Actively participate on Safety Committees throughout AnMed.
• Assists the development and implementation of policies and procedures in support of AnMed safety program. • Researches best practices as it relates to safety and emergency preparedness practices in healthcare.
• Identifies, gathers and manages statistical and other data to effectively track, trend and forecast organizational safety performance. • Participates in liaison activities with industry peers, consultants and community/regulatory agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
BA or BS Degree, due to the level of written regulations from state and federal agencies, it requires this level of education to interpret and comply with these standards.
And/or HSD/GED required with two (2) to five (5) years' experience in working with regulatory requirements (i.e., OSHA, DHEC, Joint Commission, DNV) with regards to workers safety and emergency management issues.
