Job description

University Credit Union is seeking a full-time Collections Specialist to add to the team.


The Collections Specialist works in a team environment who are collectively responsible for minimizing credit risk to the credit union. The Collections Specialist manages delinquent (past due) accounts through verbal and written communication with borrowers, with a goal of working to a positive resolution for the delinquent account. The Specialist ensures consistent application and documentation of their appropriate collection efforts, understands relevant laws and collection practices, and properly posts payments and performs account file maintenance within credit union systems.


The Collections Specialist should be organized, able to handle multiple priorities, and have good verbal and written communication skills.


The position is Monday through Friday, 8-5 pm with reasonable flexibility and is a hybrid work from home and office position.
