Job description

We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dependable Activity Assistant to support our Activity Director in providing meaningful recreational and therapeutic activities for our residents. The ideal candidate enjoys working with seniors, has a positive attitude, exceptional customer service skills, and is passionate about creating engaging experiences that bring joy and improve residents' quality of life.
Under the direction of the Activity Director, the Activity Assistant helps plan, organize, implement, and evaluate activity programs that promote the physical, mental, emotional, and psychosocial well-being of each resident in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.
Activity Programming
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and leading recreational, therapeutic, and social activities for residents.
  • Encourage participation in individual and group activities based on resident interests and abilities.
  • Conduct games, crafts, exercise, music, holiday events, movies, and other scheduled programs.
  • Provide individualized activities and visits for residents unable to attend group programs.
  • Maintain activity calendars, attendance records, and activity areas.
Resident Care & Documentation
  • Assist with activity assessments, care plans, and resident documentation.
  • Observe and report changes in resident participation or interests.
  • Encourage resident and family involvement in activity planning.
Department Support
  • Maintain activity supplies and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Assist with special events, decorations, and department projects.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to support resident engagement.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance and survey readiness.
Resident Rights
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and privacy.
  • Treat all residents with dignity and respect.
