How much do doctor of nursing practice jobs pay per year?
What is a Doctor of Nursing Practice?
As a doctor of nursing practice (DNP), your job is to provide support for a physicians’ office at all levels. This is not limited to medical care, though you are mainly a nurse practitioner (NP). However, DNPs also use leadership skills, economic skills, and organizational skills to manage clinics, hospitals, and similar facilities. In this role, you may oversee an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) as they work on complex cases, interact directly with each patient, communicate with a lab, and otherwise keep a facility operating smoothly. Many DNPs are extremely senior within a medical office. You may not be the owner, but you are almost always one of the most important employees. The DNP is not a Ph.D., as the latter is a research doctorate that focuses on lab work, while the DNP focuses on providing direct care to patients while managing the practice.

The DNP prepares nurses for broader roles in healthcare systems, whereas Nurse Anesthetists are primarily involved in perioperative patient care.
