Dock Boys are entry-level workers who assist with various tasks at docks or marinas, such as helping boats dock and undock, fueling vessels, maintaining cleanliness, and providing customer service to boaters. They often work outdoors and are responsible for ensuring that boats are handled safely and efficiently. This position is ideal for those looking to gain experience in the maritime industry or seeking a seasonal job near the water.

What are the typical responsibilities of a dock boy and how do they contribute to marina operations?

As a Dock Boy, your daily responsibilities typically include assisting boaters with docking and undocking, fueling vessels, maintaining cleanliness and safety on the docks, and providing general customer service to marina guests. You’ll often be the first point of contact for boaters, so strong communication and teamwork skills are valuable. This role is physically active and requires attention to safety protocols, especially when handling fuel or helping during busy periods. By ensuring smooth operations on the waterfront, Dock Boys play a crucial role in maintaining the marina’s reputation and customer satisfaction.
