Job description

Loan Doc Prep Specialist

First International Bank & Trust (FIBT) is seeking a Loan Doc Prep Specialist to join our centralized Credit Administration team. This role supports commercial lending teams by preparing accurate, compliant loan documentation and helping ensure approved loans are ready for closing.

This position is focused on commercial credit and commercial loan document preparation, including the review of approved credit terms, preparation of LaserPro-generated loan documents, and coordination with lenders and internal partners to resolve documentation questions before closing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review approved credit documentation to understand loan terms, conditions, collateral, and required documentation.
  • Prepare complete commercial loan document packages that align with approved credit terms and bank policy, including notes, security agreements, mortgages, guarantees, UCC filings, subordinations, and related closing documentation.
  • Identify missing, incomplete, or conflicting documentation and work with loan officers and internal partners to resolve issues prior to closing.
  • Support pre-close documentation processes as the department expands its centralized document preparation responsibilities.
  • Prepare and support LaserPro-generated loan documentation as part of centralized document preparation efforts.
  • Apply a strong working knowledge of commercial loan documentation language when reviewing files and responding to document questions or required changes.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy, organization, and consistency while managing multiple loan files simultaneously.
  • Stay current on lending policies, procedures, and commercial loan documentation standards.
  • Assist with special projects and additional responsibilities as the centralized Credit Administration team continues to grow.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field and a minimum of four years of experience in lending, loan documentation, or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Commercial loan documentation, commercial credit administration, or commercial/agricultural lending support experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience preparing loan documents through a loan documentation system is preferred; LaserPro experience and commercial loan documentation experience are strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, compliant commercial loan documentation in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to identify documentation issues, think critically, and follow through on practical solutions.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with lenders and internal partners.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining quality and consistency.
