What You'll Do

  • Fit and dispense prescribed orthopedic DME and educate patients on proper use, care, and expectations.

  • Coordinate pre-surgical DME fittings, including scheduling patients and ensuring they have the appropriate equipment and education prior to surgery.

  • Partner closely with physicians and clinical team members to ensure orders and supporting documentation are accurate and meet insurance requirements before equipment is dispensed.

  • Verify insurance requirements and obtain required patient documentation, including proof of delivery.

  • Collect patient payments for DME based on the portion designated by their insurance as the patient's financial responsibility.

  • Manage daily DME reconciliation and review previous transactions to ensure documentation is complete and accurate.

  • Maintain DME inventory and ensure appropriate products are available to support patient and clinic needs.

  • Complete quarterly inventory audits and maintain accurate inventory records.

  • Serve as a DME resource for clinical team members, providing education on proper dispensing processes, documentation, and insurance guidelines.

  • Build strong working relationships with providers, clinical teams, and operational leaders to create a smooth experience for patients.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a healthcare, clinical, or patient-facing environment.

  • Strong communication skills and a passion for providing an excellent patient experience.

  • Comfortable providing hands-on patient education and learning how to properly fit orthopedic equipment.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate documentation and follow insurance requirements.

  • Organized and able to balance patient care, administrative responsibilities, and inventory needs.

  • Comfortable working collaboratively with physicians, clinical teams, and operational leaders.

  • Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and take ownership of responsibilities.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience in orthopedics, sports medicine, rehabilitation, athletic training, or medical assisting.

  • Previous experience with DME, orthotics/bracing, insurance verification, medical documentation, or inventory management.

Schedule

  • Monday-Friday | Daytime Hours

  • Typical coverage falls between 8:00 AM and 5:30 PM, with staggered shifts based on patient and clinic volume. This is an onsite position supporting our clinical operations.

Compensation Range for this position:

$24.11 - $36.16
