Electrical Apprentice / Top Helper

Current Edge Solutions is a service-disabled veteran owned and operated full-service electrical contracting firm specializing in Utility Engineering. Current Edge Solutions has over 100 combined years of experience in utility scale design, operation, maintenance, over 40 combined years of Electrical Contracting and Construction experience and can deliver projects of the highest quality. Our employees have proven experience and a trusted network of utility contracting resources. Our growing company is seeking to hire Electrical Apprentice / Top Helper's with the desire and ability to learn the electrical trade. The ideal candidate would aspire to learn and grow into an Electrician or future Project Manager. The projects we are supporting include commercial, industrial, and utility.

Electrical Helper / Apprentice Responsibilities:

  • Follow instructions and assist Journeyman / Master Electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems
  • Perform basic electrical tasks, under supervision, of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment
  • Carry and hold materials and tools
  • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit
  • Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, work truck, and equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills:

  • Minimum 1 - 2 years in the electrical trade
  • Reliable with excellent attendance
  • Troubleshooting experience (Preferred)
  • A positive attitude with the eagerness to go above and beyond
  • A willingness to learn
  • Must have valid Driver's License and transportation
  • Physically able to lift heavy objects as necessary
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings, background checks, and annual motor vehicle record screenings according to company and client policies
  • Some travel (25%), including overnight (required) 100% Company Paid Travel

About This Position:

  • Location: Savannah, GA (not a remote position)
  • FLSA status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits. Must be able to lift 50+ pounds; prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Must be able to work in extremely cold/hot temperatures and some hazardous conditions. The employee must comply with the assigned location's PPE requirements including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing, and shields for required tasks and closed toed or safety shoes as required by facility safety policies.
