Responsibilities
What Will You Be Doing?
The Distribution Center Supervisor position is responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of our Distribution Center facility. This position is responsible for partnering with the Management team to ensure operational and financial objectives are met, as well as managing values and attitudes of the employees. They will also identify and develop strong leaders who will contribute to our company's growth. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position.
  • Communicates expectations and effectively evaluates the distribution operations performance and objectives
  • Provides a partnership with the Manager to ensure the development of each employee's needs, goals and aspirations
  • Leads the effort to communicate goals and ensures these goals are understood by the staff including overall company goals, daily boards and any other seasonal objectives for the department
  • Ensures all safety policies and procedures are followed by the entire staff
  • Stays current and evaluates all company and store-specific reporting and metrics, applies that knowledge to drive the daily operations and affect positive change in the Distribution Center
  • Stays current and knowledgeable on operational procedures in their home department
  • Assists in daily operations as well as operates equipment as needed
  • Contributes to a clean and safe Distribution Center
  • Stays current with all company initiatives and directives (operations, training, logistics, staff development, etc.)
  • Manages time to successfully balance administrative responsibilities and floor time
  • Works to create schedules, time edits and remains mindful of the payroll expense plan while working in collaboration with other Managers and Supervisors
  • Checks voicemail and email on a scheduled basis while keeping the priority on spending time on the floor with employees
  • Is committed to timely communication and works with employees to do the same
  • Conducts timely and objective performance reviews
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
  • Contributes to a clean and safe Distribution Center
  • Consistently arrives promptly to work the assigned schedule
  • Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information
  • Performs other requested tasks and duties

Qualifications
What You Bring To Us
  • 2-5 years supervisor experience preferred
  • Automation, LM and WMS experience preferred
  • Experience managing others including career development, directing and evaluating work
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
  • Ability to pass background checks and investigations due to foreign, federal, state and local regulations; based on position responsibility and sensitivity, periodic check and reinvestigations may be performed
  • Is committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs
  • Knowledge of industry business and passion for following trends in the industry
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional manner, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization
