Berger Transfer & Storage is seeking a DISTRIBUTION MANAGER to join our team in Chino, CA! Our Distribution Manager is responsible for effectively leading the distribution center team to meet monthly and quarterly shipping goals as well as on-time performance metrics. This individual will drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, accuracy, delivery and cost while expanding the warehouse team capabilities in support of Berger's growth strategies.


Responsibilities for our DISTRIBUTION MANAGER include but are not limited to:

  • Focus and strive for successful completion of metrics including 95% on-time delivery, 90% delivery complete status and 10% product return rate.
  • Directing, training, coaching and motivating employees to create a high performing customer centric team that understands and supports departmental/company goals.
  • Trouble shooting and tracking concerns of electronic warehouse inventory system.
  • Manage all relevant vendor activities to insure best cost, quality and delivery.
  • In conjunction with the General Manager develop and manage budgets that support the needs of the business while minimizing operating expenses. Drive a minimum 15% Operating Margin.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment that is compliant with OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • Support initiatives to monitor and improve product quality enhancing customer satisfaction and reducing product returns.
  • Play a lead role as needed in future initiatives to offer retailers and consumers additional value added services.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications to apply for this role are:

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 2 or more years as a Warehouse Manager or Supervisor. Distribution experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work well with a team, manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast paced, constantly changing, high demand work environment
  • Strong problem solving and project management skills
  • Self-starter motivated by daily challenges
  • Must be able to demonstrate previous successful experience performing the following key skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products. Knowledge and ability to use typical office equipment (PC, calculator, fax machine, etc.)
    • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
    • Good oral and written communications skills.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
    • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and fractions.

Working Environment: At least a few hours a week working in the warehouse to check off items received versus items manifested.


Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk on non-forgiving surfaces such as concrete, wood, metal (to include fiberglass ramps placed on 30 degree angles); use of finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; and occasionally lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds without mechanical aid. Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and accurately read written and computer-generated information in English.
