Essential Functions:

  • Lead shift operations across receiving, outbound fulfillment, and replenishment to meet productivity targets and deadlines
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, opening/closing procedures, and inventory control requirements
  • Oversee inbound/outbound freight, including receiving, processing, and issue resolution (shortages, damages, overages)
  • Assign and prioritize tasks while coaching associates to maintain efficient workflow and adherence to procedures
  • Manage inventory accuracy, product rotation (FIFO), and system updates using SAP and related tools
  • Maintain an organized, safe warehouse environment and support cycle counts and inventory audits
  • Monitor key performance metrics (throughput, labor efficiency) and escalate operational issues as needed
  • Partner with leadership on staffing, process improvements, and team performance feedback
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, equipment, and transportation standards

  • The Distribution Center Shift Manager position as described falls under the Fair Labor Standards Act as a non-exempt position
  • Requires scheduling flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to walk extensively throughout warehouses and retail locations for extended periods
  • Lift, carry, and move inventory items up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Visual acuity to review inventory records, conduct physical counts, and analyze data reports
  • Work in varying warehouse and retail environments with different temperature and noise levels


Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:

  • Education and Experience: The combination of education and professional experience must exceed 3 years:
  • In a supervisory role: 1 year of experience supervising warehouse, distribution, or operations teams preferred
  • In a technical role: Requires 2-3 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, stock handling, or supply chain coordination
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field can count for 1 of the 3-year requirement
  • Specialized Training:
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory handling procedures
  • Basic understanding of food safety protocols and HACCP principles preferred
  • Understanding of safety regulations and asset protection protocols in warehouse environments
  • Warehouse management systems training (SAP, CrunchTime preferred)
  • OSHA safety and hazardous material handling awareness


Specialized Skillset/Competencies/Traits:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet operational deadlines in fast-paced environments
  • Solid analytical skills with ability to identify inventory discrepancies, investigate variances, and implement corrective actions effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn warehouse management systems including SAP and CrunchTime quickly
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to provide clear instructions, document procedures, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
