Job description

Job Title: Chemical Operator II Job Description: The Role Entegris is currently seeking a Chemical Operator II (Nights) to join our CVD/ Distillation Hall team. This position will be based in our Burnet facility. In this role, you will be responsible for the purification and maintenance of a variety set of products. This role will be part of a team that strives to ensure our products meet the highest standards of safety and quality while meeting the timeliness our customer's desire. The shift for this position is 5:00pm - 5:00am (3-2-2-3 schedule with every other weekend off) once fully trained and certified. What You'll Do
  • Initiate, monitor, and troubleshoot batch-distillation processes: Oversee the entire batch-distillation process from start to finish, ensuring the safe handling and processing of multiple hazardous chemicals. This includes setting up equipment, monitoring the distillation process, identifying and resolving any issues that arise, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Collect and submit chemical samples: Use a variety of glass and Teflon vials to collect chemical samples at different stages of the process. Accurately label and document each sample before submitting them to the laboratory for detailed analysis. Ensure that all samples are handled according to safety and quality standards.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment: Regularly inspect and maintain distillation equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure efficient operation. This includes cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts as necessary. Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and report any major issues to the supervisor.
  • Utilize SAP for production management: Use SAP software to manage the production schedule, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and according to plan. This includes creating and completing work orders, transacting inventory, and printing labels for finished products. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the system to support production planning and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards: Adhere to all company policies and regulatory requirements related to the handling of hazardous chemicals and the operation of distillation equipment. Participate in safety training and drills, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and suggesting enhancements to processes and procedures
What We Seek
  • Education: High Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree in chemistry, process operations, or a related field is a plus.
  • Manufacturing Experience: 2 +years of manufacturing experience; distillation experience is preferred.
  • Chemical Handling: Experience with safe chemical handling.
  • Safety Mindset: Proper use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols.
  • PLC Operation: Knowledge of operating PLCs, valves, and pressure regulators.
  • Piping and P&ID: Familiarity with piping systems and reading P&IDs.
  • Manufacturing Experience: Previous manufacturing experience; distillation experience is a plus.
  • Inventory Management: Knowledge of inventory management; SAP experience is a plus.
  • ISO 9001: Working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong technical problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible, able to rapidly respond to new situations and to perform multiple tasks
  • Ability to frequently lift 50lbs and push up to 130lbs.
