Reporting to the Dispatch Manager, the Dispatcher will be responsible for communicating the load plan to drivers and customers while also ensuring that all customer requirements are met. An eye for detail is key to the success of someone stepping into this role!

Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for communicating the load plan to drivers and customers.
  • Ensure the drivers have the proper instructions to perform their duties safely.
  • Listen to all driver concerns and act on them appropriately.
  • Support Daily Operations through Dispatch assist -coordinating equipment and freight movements, troubleshooting driver and terminal issues, and maintaining up-to-date dispatch screens-and utilizes the TMW system to schedule loads, log customer orders, monitor driver status, and ensure accurate, compliant communication of load details.
  • Ensure the Company meets all customer requirements, and any changes are communicated immediately.
  • Ensure the dispatch system is up to date.
  • Work hand in hand with the Load Planners where applicable.
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency for both the Company and the customer.
  • Ensure trailer interior washes are completed where required.
  • Ensure all orders and trip events are recorded in the TMW in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Where applicable ensure that invoicing and driver pay are completed daily.
  • Where applicable audit TMW reports for compliance requirements.
  • Service failure reports are recorded in TMW and brought to the attention of the Branch Manager or designate.
  • Ensure that the driver has adequate time to perform his duties safely and within the Hours of Work regulations.
  • Ensure all drivers and equipment meet regulatory and corporate compliance.
  • Assign the proper equipment for the jurisdiction and the job requirements.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma.
  • 2-3 years of related experience and/or training or Logistic graduate. -or Logistics Graduate
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using a variety of systems.
  • Experience in the transportation industry.
  • Post-secondary education is considered an asset.
  • Experience in bulk and/or hazardous commodities an asset.
  • Experience with TMW.
