Title: Dispatcher

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Night Shift Hourly Rate: $22 - $27 per hour

Employment Type: Full TimeNight Shift

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 8 pm - 6 am

Full-Time Benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision (with company contribution), Paid Time Off (PTO), 401K, and Weekly Pay.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the work and activities of EMTs and Paramedics.

  • Conduct yourself in a courteous, helpful, and professional manner at all times when dealing with patients, co-workers, supervisors and/or the public

  • Receive, prioritize, and dispatch calls in CAD system

  • Provide top tier customer service to medical facilities, the public, and our employees

  • Gather and verify billing information including full patient demographics, insurance information, eligibility, and authorization required by insurance, medical necessity, and payers

  • Maintain professional demeanor in office and while on the phone with customers

  • Dispatch ambulances to scheduled runs to ensure appropriate medical level of transport care to area facilities

  • Intake a large call volume and triage to determine appropriate level of care and coordinate transport

  • Display knowledge of appropriate medical terminology and conditions

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.

  • Perform other duties as required/assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Ability to type 30+ words per minute with experience in data entry

  • Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities

  • Active listener with excellent communication skills

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to pivot work focus as priorities shift, based on the needs of the business

  • Proficient in English (oral and written)

  • Proven experience as a dispatcher in a relevant field (preferred)

  • EMS/Clinical background (preferred)

  • Tech-savvy with knowledge of computer aided dispatch software (CAD) (preferred)
