We are seeking a skilled and service driven Medical Communications Specialist to join our team! In this role, you will support medical communications operations by dispatching ground and air medical transport, coordinating with internal and external partners, and facilitating patient transfer communications. You'll play an essential role in supporting safe, efficient patient movement across the region!

What's Available:

  • .9 FTE (36 hours weekly), full-time, benefit eligible

  • Schedule: three 12-hour shifts a week, every 3rd weekend availability required

  • Location: La Crosse, WI

  • Starting pay of $20.50+ more for experience!

  • Shift differentials: PM Shift $1.00, Night Shift $2.00, Weekend $1.50


What You'll Do:

  • Receive and manage emergency and non-emergency transport requests; dispatch appropriate ground or air medical resources based on established protocols.

  • Monitor public safety and EMS activity in the region and coordinate with 911 centers and external agencies as needed.

  • Facilitate communication, transfers, consults, and referrals between providers and clinicians.

  • Train new staff, collaborate with internal teams, and serve as a knowledgeable resource for patient flow and transfer processes.

  • Assist with patient logistics, scheduling support, and system communication to ensure coordinated and timely care.


What You'll Need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency

  • 1 year of experience using multiline phones, radio dispatch equipment, or computer aided dispatching systems

  • Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) certification within one year of hire
