Job description

The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and managing daily transportation operations to ensure on-time, efficient, and accurate delivery services. This role serves as the central communication point between drivers, customer service, and management. Dispatchers monitor routes, respond to real-time service changes, and proactively resolve issues to maintain service excellence for Optima’s customers.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and assign delivery routes to drivers to ensure timely and efficient service.
  • Monitor routes and delivery progress throughout the day using dispatch and tracking systems.
  • Communicate continuously with drivers to provide updates, resolve issues, and adjust routes as needed.
  • Work closely with the Customer Service team to provide realtime delivery updates and resolve service concerns.
  • Respond to service disruptions, delays, or route changes with quick decisionmaking and problem resolution.
  • Document and track delivery activity, exceptions, and service issues within dispatch and ticketing systems.
  • Ensure all routes are properly covered and make staffing or routing adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain clear communication with management regarding operational challenges and daily performance.
  • Assist with reporting, administrative tasks, and operational support to ensure continuity of service.
  • Knowledge and Experience
  • 13 years of experience in dispatching, transportation, logistics, or a fastpaced operational environment.
  • Strong decisionmaking, problemsolving, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and organized in a highpressure, timesensitive environment.
  • Excellent communication skills when working with drivers, customer service, and management.
  • Comfortable working within multiple dispatch and tracking software systems.
