What is a dispatch assistant?

Dispatch Assistants are professionals who support the logistics and transportation departments of companies by coordinating the scheduling, tracking, and dispatching of vehicles, drivers, or shipments. They handle communication between drivers, clients, and management, ensuring that deliveries and pickups are completed efficiently and on time. Their duties may also include maintaining records, updating tracking systems, and resolving any issues that arise during the transportation process. Dispatch Assistants play a crucial role in keeping supply chains running smoothly.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a dispatch assistant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Dispatch Assistant, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with dispatch management software, GPS tracking systems, and office productivity tools is typically required. These competencies ensure timely coordination of deliveries, efficient operations, and reliable service to clients.
