We are hiring a Dispatcher in Calgary, AB!

The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily service operations by scheduling and routing technicians to maximize efficiency while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role serves as the central communication hub between customers and field technicians, proactively managing schedules, resolving issues, and ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.

Responsibilities:

This position will include, but not be limited to the following:


Scheduling and Routing:

  • Efficiently schedule jobs and route technicians to minimize travel time and maximize productivity.
  • Ensure proper allocation of technicians for emergency, routine, and seasonal jobs.
  • Minimize idle time for technicians by effectively filling gaps in the schedule.


Customer Communication:

  • Notify customers of appointment confirmation, changes, or cancellations.
  • Provide real-time updates on technician arrival times, especially if there are delays.
  • Build rapport and trust with customers to create positive experiences and foster loyalty.


Technician Coordination:

  • Assign jobs to technicians based on skillsets, certifications, and experience to ensure proper handling of tasks.
  • Ensure technicians have the necessary tools, equipment, and parts for each job before dispatching.
  • Provide updates on schedule changes, emergencies, or customer requests.

Performance Monitoring:

  • Track the status of jobs, monitor technician performance, and adjust schedules in real time to accommodate emergencies or delays.
  • Ensure technicians adhere to scheduled time frames and inform customers of any delays.

Problem Resolution:

  • Handle any on-the-fly issues, such as rescheduling due to emergencies, resolving customer complaints, or addressing technician challenges.
  • Communicate with technicians experiencing delays and assess the impact on other scheduled jobs.

Qualifications Include:

  • 1-3 years of experience in customer service, or administrative support
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
