Responsibilities
The Director of Leisure Sales leads the resort's leisure and transient sales strategy, with primary focus on luxury travel advisors/consortia, wholesale/FIT, and other high-yield leisure segments. This role drives profitable room revenue through strong partnerships and close collaboration with Revenue Management, Marketing, and Operations to deliver exceptional guest experiences and achieve commercial objectives. Here's what you'll do during a typical day:
  • Lead the identification, solicitation, and management of leisure and business travel accounts, including luxury retail travel advisors, consortia, wholesalers, FIT, entertainment, and select corporate travel segments.
  • Develop and execute Leisure and Business Travel Sales & Marketing Action Plans aligned with overall resort and multi-resort strategy.
  • Establish and manage target account lists for wholesale, retail, consortia, and business travel segments, ensuring achievement of annual room night and revenue goals.
  • Integrate individual property leisure initiatives into the broader resort or complex leisure sales strategy.
  • Proactively prospect new leisure and business travel accounts through qualified sales calls, market visits, and direct outreach; conduct regular and strategic sales trips.
  • Represent the resort at key travel industry trade shows, conferences, sales missions, and professional meetings.
  • Maintain strong relationships with travel industry partners by communicating updates on programs, promotions, and events, serving as a primary liaison and brand ambassador.
  • Review account production, booking patterns, and market mix to determine appropriate segmentation, negotiation strategy, and pricing recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with Revenue Management on pricing, demand, forecasting, and negotiated leisure and business travel agreements.
  • Direct the collection and analysis of competitive intelligence to inform market positioning and sales strategy.
  • Ensure all travel industry policies, wholesale agreements, and sales guidelines are clearly communicated and adhered to by Sales and Operations teams.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to ensure alignment on new programs, packages, promotions, and travel industry initiatives that support revenue growth and positive brand exposure.
  • Maintain active relationships with competitive properties at both regional and national levels through professional associations and industry networks.
  • Host and lead travel partner FAM trips, educational tours, and site inspections, ensuring consistent execution of luxury brand standards.

What are we looking for?
Qualifications
  • Proven success in luxury hospitality leisure sales with a strong record of revenue growth and relationship building.
  • Experience leading sales strategy across teams and cross-functional partners.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
  • Strong analytical capability and comfort using sales systems and market data.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Preferred Experience
  • Established relationships within luxury consortia, leisure agency networks, and/or wholesale/FIT segments.
  • Luxury resort or multi-property experience with diverse amenities.

Travel
  • Frequent domestic and international travel for sales calls, trade shows, and partner engagement.
