Position Summary
The Changeover Crew is an on call, per event employee who works specifically in the areas of room sets and arena conversions at the Chaifetz Arena.
This role pays an hourly rate of $15.00 to $17.00
Benefits for Part-Time roles: 401(k) Savings Plan and 401(k) matching
This position will remain open until August 21, 2026.
About the Venue
Chaifetz Arena is a 10,600-seat venue sitting on the campus of Saint Louis University and is privately managed by OVG. Chaifetz Arena has served as the home venue for the SLU Billikens men's and women's basketball teams as well as hosted a diverse range of concerts, family shows, national sporting events, and much more. Audiences have enjoyed performances from Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Patti LaBelle, The Killers, Kelly Clarkson, Cirque du Soleil, Martin Lawrence, Brad Paisley, Disney On Ice, and many more critically acclaimed entertainment acts.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the physical setup of all areas around the arena, including chairs, tables, staging, furnishings, and equipment for sporting and live events.
  • Actively care for all arena equipment and property by storing, cleaning, and maintaining changeover equipment.
  • Respond and resolve set-up issues promptly as directed by fellow staff and management.
  • Participate in all aspects of the conversion process for events.
  • Setting up and tearing down flooring, hockey glass, chairs, barricades, staging, tables, and other furnishings and equipment.
  • Responsible for the physical setup of all areas around the arena, including chairs, tables, staging, furnishings, and equipment for sporting and live events.
  • Responding to promoters'/clients' needs as directed by the onsite building manager.
  • Assist, when necessary, with pre/post event cleaning, including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, and carpet cleaning.
  • Maintain outside grounds, including parking areas, entrances, and the event plaza.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, such as painting, patching, and other conversion-related operational equipment.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with other departments, clients, and patrons encountered in the course of employment.
  • Work effectively under pressure and stringent schedules to produce accurate results.
  • Actively care for all arena equipment and property by storing, cleaning, and maintaining changeover equipment.
  • Respond and resolve set-up issues promptly as directed by fellow staff and management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience with changeovers at arenas or stadiums preferred.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on the event schedule.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects often.
  • Must be able to work in a manner that is safe and effective.
