Job description

The Position Beltrami County is creating an eligibility list for a full-time, benefited Support Enforcement Aide to work in our Child Support Office. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting a team of two Child Support Specialists. Performs skilled administrative support work supporting intake and location in the initiation of child support enforcement and establishment of child support enforcement orders; monitoring orders, and related work as apparent or assigned.

Work is performed under the supervision of the Economic Assistance Program Manager - Child Support. Preferred hiring salary range is $23.22 to $25.36 per hour with a full range of $23.22 to $29.40 per hour. Placement depends on factors such as qualifications, internal equity, market conditions, and applicable policy guidelines

Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED. One year of work experience working with an agency or business providing client/customer benefits or services. Valid driver's license.

Essential Functions & Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Essential Functions Reviews and processes intake referrals; verifies that information is complete and accurate. Attempts to locate absent parents through telephone contacts and various information system resources. Contacts employers to implement and monitor income withholding and medical support enforcement orders.

Explains procedures and policies to clients and responds to inquiries from employers, attorneys and outside government agencies. Maintains and monitors case records with child support staff; keeps contact, employment, insurance and related information current; tracks individual cases manually when requested by staff. Attends required training on new policies, procedures and technology updates.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities General knowledge of child support programs and procedures; general knowledge of the principles and practices of public social service organizations; skill in verbal communication; ability to analyze facts and exercise sound judgment in arriving at conclusions; ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, orally and in writing; ability to prepare clear and concise reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, associates, legal and court professionals and the general public. Physical Requirements This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing, using hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms and repetitive motions and occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, tasting or smelling, pushing or pulling and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating machines and observing general surroundings and activities; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic)
