Job description

JOB TITLE: Residential Program Manager JOB STATUS: Exempt (salaried)

BASIC FUNCTION: Primarily responsible for managing and coordinating the operations of assigned residential site(s) housing adults diagnosed with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

SCOPE: Ensure quality and consistency of operations on a daily basis in compliance with all regulatory standards. Hire, train, and manage all direct support staff employed at assigned site(s). Advocate for the rights of individuals served through supervising the development and implementation of individualized, community-integrated service plans.

JOB DUTIES: % OF TIME:

  • Manage daily schedules and coordinate shift coverage 20%
  • Ensure policies and procedures are being followed by staff in accordance with regulatory training mandates, the Glenkirk Employee Handbook and the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement 20%
  • Interview and hire for vacant direct support staff and case manager positions of assigned sites. 15 %
  • Initiate, model, and supervise all on-the-job training/on-going trainings for new hires and existing employees. 15 %
  • Oversee and ensure physical plant and program safety (i.e. submit maintenance work orders for assigned sites/vehicles; ensure drills are run, complete reports, maintain stock of First Aid kits, complete temperature logs, assuring proper storage for hazardous chemicals, etc.). 5 %
  • Oversee and quality control stock and inventory of household necessities (i.e. submitting monthly supply orders, trust fund requests, weekly grocery orders, etc.) 5%
  • Oversee and quality control program petty cash funds, Link cards, and grocery store cards. Maintain accurate ledgers of all expenditures with corresponding receipts. 5%
  • Monitor the delivery of program services by ensuring quality implementation of the Individuals’ SIS. 5%
  • Ensure that case files are up-to-date for each assigned individual and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards (i.e. DHS Rule 115/116, QA, DOL, BALC, IDPH), as well as internal QA processes, Case Record Reviews, Glenkirk Policies and Procedures, Outcome Measurement, Behavior Management, Human Rights, and Safety. 5%
  • Oversee and ensure the health and well-being of individuals served through attending medical appointments and/or medical emergencies, as needed, and acting as the lead liaison between medical facilities and Glenkirk. 5%
  • Participate in Manager on Duty (MOD) responsibilities on an on-going basis during the work week and on a rotating basis on the weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree or in human services, a related field, or extensive coursework in psychology, social work, or physical therapy.

Experience:

  • 1+ year of experience working directly with people with developmental disabilities or the ability meet the minimum federal educational requirements for a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) is required.
  • 2+ years of proven leadership and management experience, preferred.
  • A valid IL driver’s license is required.

Knowledge: Demonstrated ability to work with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities; ability to work effectively and cooperatively with administration, staff, and persons external to the programs; established professional leadership skills; demonstrated analytical ability; strong written and verbal communication skills.

Physical requirements: Able to lift 44lbs; able to lift and move non- & semi-ambulatory individuals with the assistance of mechanical devices (i.e. Hoyer lift, gait belt, etc.); assist individuals on/off the bus/van; able to move boxes and/or furniture for cleaning, climb ladder, or step stool, as required.
