Position Summary
Helpful Hearts Health Services Inc. is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide both Community Development Services (CDS) and Residential Services. In this role, you will assist individuals with daily living activities, personal care, community participation, and goal achievement while fostering independence and enhancing quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist individuals with personal hygiene and daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
  • Administer medications according to prescribed guidelines and agency policies.
  • Prepare meals and assist with feeding.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties and maintain a clean, safe living environment.
  • Facilitate community-based activities that promote independence, social engagement, and inclusion.
  • Support individuals in developing communication, self-advocacy, and independent living skills.
  • Implement and support Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) to help individuals achieve personal goals.
  • Provide transportation to appointments, community activities, and other approved destinations as needed.
  • Monitor and ensure the safety, dignity, rights, and well-being of all individuals served.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, daily notes, medication records, and progress reports.
  • Communicate effectively with families, supervisors, and interdisciplinary team members.
Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass required background checks and pre-employment screenings.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Certified Medication Technician (CMT) certification.
  • Mandt Training certification.
  • DDA Training.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, patient, compassionate, and committed to making a positive impact.
Preferred:
Experience providing Community Development Services and Residential Services.
