Job Description
1. Hire, train, develop, and lead a team of benefits and compensation professionals to effectively carry out department functions and provide outrageous customer service.
2. Develop, implement, and administer innovative total rewards strategies that help the company offer competitive benefits, enhance the wellness and productivity of our employees, manage our benefits costs, and comply with all laws and regulations.
3. Lead and maintain compensation strategy for the company by recommending standardized programs, sales and commission plans, variable compensation designs, bonus programs, and long-term incentive programs, etc., as needed.
4. Manage and ensure compliance for all benefits and compensation programs, including but not limited to variable compensation plans, health insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, employee assistance, 401(k), and other company plans and programs.
5. Oversee the system administration and HR aspects of HRIS system including maintenance, upgrades, and service delivery.
6. Ensure alignment of incentive/reward elements with culture, strategy, and operational imperatives.
7. Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy for total rewards programs.
8. Create a strong culture of recognition through the design of reward and recognition programs.
9. Collaborate with HR Business Partners and business leaders to understand their issues related to benefits and compensation; Provide counsel on benefits and compensation related opportunities and challenges.
10. Manage and negotiate with third party solution and administrative providers.
11. Analyze various benefits and compensation data to identify trends/issues and propose/implement solutions.
12. Ensure all programs offered by Total Rewards are current with regard to trends, practices, and costs.
13. Participate in discussions regarding the performance review system to ensure alignment with salary administration guidelines.
14. Maintain a working knowledge of international, federal, and state legislation influencing benefits and compensation.
15. Work with accounting and finance departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with all tax laws.
16. Build and maintain relationships with outside legal counsel in partnership with in-house legal team to review Plan Documents, SPDs, SMMs, and amendment updates.
17. Build and sustain collaborative relationships at multiple levels in the company; work through complex challenges to achieve resolution; build trust by including others and by keeping cross-functional teams focused on the success of Direct Supply ("One Direct Supply").
Skill Set
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field 2. 10+ years of benefits and compensation related experience with a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience 3. Experience with variable compensation and executive compensation plans 4. Ability to design and define a compensation philosophy 5. Knowledge, understanding, and application of federal and state employment laws: ERISA, FLMA, FLSA, EEO, HIPAA, PPACA, etc. 6. Advanced problem solving skills with the ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively 7. Proven experience developing and implementing large scale projects and change initiatives 8. Proven ability and experience working with senior leaders and executives 9. Ability to link actions to the company strategy and performance 10. Possess high attention to detail
