Position Overview

The Director of the Technical Assistance Center is responsible for the execution, performance, and compliance of large-scale technical assistance contracts and programs. This role serves as the accountable leader for ensuring that all contractual deliverables are executed on time, within scope, and aligned to partner expectations. The Director will oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing operations of a centralized technical assistance model, including intake, triage, service delivery, workforce development, and performance reporting.

The Director operates at a system level-coordinating across internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of services and measurable impact across participating organizations.

Essential Duties

• Own end-to-end accountability for contract execution, ensuring all deliverables, milestones, and reporting requirements are met on time and within scope
• Establish and operationalize a centralized technical assistance delivery model, including governance, intake, triage, service pathways, and performance management
• Lead cross-functional coordination across program management, service delivery teams, platform/infrastructure, and data/reporting functions
• Serve as the primary internal lead for coordination with external partners, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution
• Oversee performance monitoring and reporting processes, ensuring accurate data capture, analysis, and communication aligned to contractual and regulatory expectations
• Identify risks to delivery (timeline, scope, staffing, partner coordination) and proactively implement mitigation strategies
• Drive continuous improvement of service delivery models, incorporating feedback, data insights, and lessons learned
• Support staffing strategy and team development to ensure capacity and capability to meet program demand and scaling requirements
• Other duties as assigned

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, public health, business, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 8-10+ years of experience leading complex programs, contracts, or service delivery models
• Demonstrated experience managing large, multi-stakeholder initiatives with accountability for timelines, deliverables, and outcomes
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating across internal and external partners
• Strong operational leadership with the ability to translate strategy into execution and drive measurable results

Preferred:

• Experience managing grant- or contract-funded programs with state or federal partners
• Experience in healthcare, public health, or technical assistance environments
• Familiarity with areas such as digital health, clinical transformation, workforce development, or health IT
• Experience working within multi-partner or program integrator environments

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

• Constant interpersonal skills, teamwork, and customer service. Frequent creativity, mentoring, presentations, and teaching. Occasional decision making and independent judgment or action.
• Reading, speaking, writing, and understanding English.
• While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.
• This position requires a virtual home-office environment, working remotely.
• The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and mobile devices.
• Travel is required to support OCHIN's business requirements for go-live installations or training which may require travel by air, vehicle, or train.

Work Location and Travel Requirements

OCHIN is a 100% remote organization with no physical corporate office location. Employees work remotely from home and many of our positions also support our member organizations on-site for new software installations. Nationwide travel is determined based on OCHIN business needs. Please inquire during the interview process about travel requirements for this position.

The final offer will be based on a variety of factors, including relevant skills, certifications, education, experience, training, responsibilities, internal equity, and market data.
