Job description

Ellwood National Forge has an opening for a Maintenance Supervisor. The position will be based in Irvine, however projects and assignments will require travel to the Corry/Warren Plants. This position will report to Adam Green, Facilities Manager, and may require working off hours, weekends and all operating shifts as deemed necessary based on business needs. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Job Duties
  • Supervise all repairs, installations and modifications.
  • Direct the activities of the department and hold employees responsible for high quality, high volume productivity with regard to safety practices.
  • Provide leadership to team members including; training, scheduling, setting expectations and conducting performance evaluations for performance and skills.
  • Ensure that critical spare parts inventory is maintained.
  • Work with Operations to ensure that downtime is minimized and production efficiencies are maintained.
  • Maintain/monitor Preventive Maintenance Program.
  • Assist in the planning and support of plant projects and outages.
  • Assist with the development of policies and procedures for the department and organization.
  • Attendance on site as scheduled is an essential function.
  • Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Technical or Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a commensurate level of related experience and education.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical and/or electrical repair within a steel manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
  • Experience with preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints including GD&T tolerancing.
  • Strong Math skills and problem solving ability.
  • Ability to work well with a team and other departments while also working independently.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Results oriented with a focus on organization and prioritization.
  • Familiarity with Syteline, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must be willing to work all operating shifts as deemed necessary based on business needs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3 - 5 or more years direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior Management/Leadership/Supervisory classes/training.
  • Proficiency with Syteline, Microsoft Word and Excel.
