Support Services of Virginia is currently hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in Virginia Beach to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in residential and community-based environments. We are looking for compassionate, dependable individuals who are flexible, community-minded, and enjoy supporting others in achieving their goals.

As a Direct Support Professional, you will play an important role in helping individuals build independence, participate in their communities, and maintain a balance between what is important to them and what is important for them. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting difference in the lives of the people you support every day.

Schedule & Work Environment

Support Services of Virginia provides services 24 hours a day and has openings for day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts. Team members are expected to work a minimum of two weekend shifts each month as part of their regular schedule. No matter which shift you work, your contributions will have a direct impact on the quality of life of the individuals you support.

Virtual interviews and training are available through Zoom.

Compensation

• Starting pay: $14.50 per hour
• Opportunity to earn $15.00 per hour after completing training requirements and medication certification clearance
• All certifications must be verified

• Proof of highest level of education completed
• Ability to pass criminal background, registry, and tuberculosis screenings
• Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR/AED Certification, Medicaid Waiver Certification, and Direct Support Professional Core Competencies

• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
