We self-perform commercial interior construction across metal framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, EIFS, stucco, painting, and Division 8 & 10 Specialties. As we continue to grow across multiple markets, we're looking for a Construction Recruiter to help us bring in the skilled tradespeople who make our work possible.

About the Role

The Construction Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, screening, and hiring craft and field personnel across our active markets. Reporting to and working closely with the Recruiting Manager, this is a high-volume, fast-paced role focused primarily on field positions, with occasional support on project management and office roles as needs arise. You'll also partner with operations and field leadership to understand crew needs and keep our projects fully staffed.

What You'll Do

  • Source and recruit field and craft candidates through job boards, referrals, networking, and direct outreach
  • Screen applicants, conduct phone interviews, and coordinate hiring manager interviews
  • Work with the Recruiting Manager to forecast staffing needs and prioritize open roles
  • Partner with field and operations leadership to keep projects fully staffed
  • Manage candidates through the full hiring process - application, interview, offer, and onboarding handoff
  • Maintain accurate candidate records and keep requisitions up to date
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of skilled trades talent for current and upcoming projects
  • Represent UCS professionally to candidates and help deliver a strong first impression of the company
  • Assist with recruiting for project management and support positions as needed

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 1 year of recruiting experience; construction or skilled trades recruiting strongly preferred
  • Comfortable with high-volume, high-urgency hiring
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Organized and able to manage multiple open roles at once
  • Self-motivated and able to work in an in-office, team-based environment
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and job board platforms
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally on occasion

Why UCS

Joining UCS means becoming part of a growing national contractor that takes pride in self-performing quality work. You'll play a direct role in building the teams that deliver our projects, with the support of an established operation behind you.
