Job description

Title: Civil/Structural Engineer

Shift: Monday to Friday, Day Shift (No remote work)

Salary: $80,000 - $95,000+ depending on experience and licensure, plus profit sharing

Civil/Structural Engineer Role:

This position exists to provide essential engineering design and technical support across a diverse range of heavy industrial consulting projects. The engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality structural layouts while working effectively within established project schedules and deadlines.

Civil/Structural Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Work within project schedules and deadlines
  • Review and maintain familiarity with approved design criteria and codes
  • Review project scopes to clearly define deliverables
  • Design and analyze foundations for heavy equipment and structures to ensure stability and structural integrity
  • Design and evaluate mill buildings considering operational requirements
  • Develop fall protection systems to enhance workplace safety in compliance with OSHA standards
  • Perform structural modifications and upgrades to existing crane runways, including load capacity assessments and reinforcement designs
  • Conduct structural analysis using industry-standard software and methodologies
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports
  • Interact with clients to review project status and deliverables
  • Travel to client sites to attend meetings and gather project information

Civil/Structural Engineer Reporting Relationships:

The candidate reports directly to the VP of Engineering and collaborates closely with an internal team of engineers. This position does not currently have any direct reports.

About You:

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Have 3 to 5 years of prior experience utilizing civil/structural engineering principles
  • Demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Maintain familiarity and the ability to work with STAAD software
  • Hold knowledge of applicable codes (Technical Report No. 13, CMAA, AIST TR-6, AISC) and industrial standards
  • Have prior experience working within Heavy Industrial Manufacturing Facilities
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately for review and reference
  • Possess a valid driver's license and a willingness to travel to client sites
  • Demonstrate a desire to earn or maintain Professional Engineer (PE) licensure under the supervision of our client's on-staff PEs
