As the Senior Director, Strategic Energy Markets, North America, you will lead LevelTen's customer engagement strategy across a portfolio of renewable energy developers, corporate and utility buyers, advisors, strategic partners, and hyperscale data center customers. Reporting to the VP of Customer Engagement, you will be responsible for driving customer retention, account growth, marketplace participation, and executive-level relationships across some of the most influential organizations shaping the future of clean energy.
This is a highly visible leadership role at the intersection of renewable energy markets, customer strategy, and commercial growth. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of renewable energy procurement, power markets, and commercial structures such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), combined with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams and developing strategic customer relationships.
You will lead a talented North American team responsible for helping customers realize value from LevelTen's marketplace, accelerating participation across the renewable energy ecosystem, and expanding engagement with some of the world's largest energy buyers, developers, and infrastructure organizations.
This role offers a unique opportunity to shape customer strategy and marketplace growth during a pivotal period in the energy transition. What You'll Do
Own North American Customer Growth & Retention
  • Deliver against subscription retention and Net Revenue Retention targets across the North American customer portfolio.
  • Develop and execute account growth strategies across renewable developers, corporate buyers, utilities, advisors, and data center customers.
  • Identify customer risks early, lead retention strategies, and maintain accurate forecasting within Salesforce.
  • Drive expansion opportunities through strategic account planning and executive engagement.
Drive Marketplace Participation & Commercial Engagement
  • Increase customer participation across the LevelTen marketplace, including project submissions, RFP activity, surveys, and other market engagement initiatives.
  • Support customer adoption of marketplace tools and services that increase recurring activity and transaction volume.
  • Partner with Product and Marketing teams to develop engagement programs that strengthen customer outcomes and marketplace growth.
  • Help customers move opportunities through the transaction lifecycle and maximize value from the platform.
Lead & Develop a High-Performing Team
  • Lead a North American Account Management organization of approximately eight team members, including a layer of managers and directors.
  • Coach, develop, and mentor future leaders within the organization.
  • Establish consistent account management, renewal, and customer engagement best practices.
  • Drive accountability, performance management, career development, and organizational effectiveness.
Lead Cross-Functionally
  • Partner with North American Sales leadership to ensure successful customer onboarding and account expansion.
  • Collaborate with European Sales and Account Management leaders to drive a consistent global customer experience.
  • Work closely with Sales Operations to improve forecasting, reporting, customer insights, and Salesforce effectiveness.
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, Marketplace, and Executive Leadership teams to ensure customer needs are represented throughout the organization.
Serve as a Senior Market Leader
  • Build and maintain relationships with strategic customers, including major developers, corporate energy buyers, utilities, advisors, and hyperscale organizations.
  • Serve as an executive sponsor for key customer relationships.
  • Act as a trusted voice on renewable energy procurement, power markets, PPAs, and marketplace strategies.
  • Represent LevelTen at customer meetings, executive briefings, and industry events.
  • Travel up to 15% for customer visits, conferences, and team gatherings.
Qualifications
Required
  • 10+ years of professional experience within renewable energy, power markets, energy advisory, utility, sustainability, commercial energy, or related sectors.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams, including experience managing managers and/or senior leaders.
  • Strong commercial leadership background with experience in customer growth, renewals, account expansion, business development, or strategic customer management.
  • Deep understanding of renewable energy markets, procurement processes, and commercial structures such as PPAs.
  • Demonstrated ability to build executive-level customer relationships and influence strategic outcomes.
  • Strong strategic thinking, organizational leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop and execute plans that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Salesforce proficiency, including forecasting, reporting, account planning, and pipeline management.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred
  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • Experience with renewable energy origination, energy markets, power marketing, corporate procurement, or energy advisory services.
  • Direct exposure to PPAs, EAC transactions, storage tolls, capacity agreements, or other clean energy commercial structures.
  • Experience working with hyperscalers, data centers, utilities, or Fortune 500 energy buyers.
  • Experience leading customer-facing organizations within a marketplace, platform, data subscription, SaaS, or energy technology company.
  • Experience managing both buy-side and sell-side customer relationships.

  • Estimated compensation: $185,000 - $210,000 base salary, with On-Target Earnings (OTE) of $250,000 - $280,000, depending on experience and location.
