Introduce the Role As the Director, Commercial Analytics and Strategic Insights, you will lead our evolution from product-focused data delivery to market-back, customer-centric strategic growth intelligence to support AI-enabled business transformation. You will equip Marketing, Commercial and Business leaders with the clarity, foresight and market intelligence needed to confidently identify new growth vectors, accurately size potential opportunities, and aggressively capture our share of those markets. This role is central to shaping Albemarle's differentiated outside-in view of markets, customers, competitive dynamics, and future demand.

By moving from reporting to AI-enabled forward-looking insights, you will help the organization toward the most valuable, market-back, customer-centric growth opportunities and optimize our commercial execution. What You Will Do Drive Market-Back Growth Intelligence: Lead the shift from reporting and data outputs to decision-ready insight products that define market sizes, uncover customer-centric growth priorities, and identify Albemarle's share of wallet. Embed economic context and market interpretation into analytics, translating findings into strategic recommendations.

Clarify Market Sizing & Opportunity Identification: Maintain a robust framework for clarifying Total Addressable Market (TAM), Serviceable Addressable Market (SAM), and Serviceable Obtainable Market (SOM) across current and adjacent specialty chemical segments. Track and Analyze Market Share: Build continuous tracking mechanisms to evaluate Albemarle's market share performance, identifying where we are winning, where whitespace exists and where competitive displacement risks lie. Translate Commercial Questions into Action: Translate complex commercial questions into structured analytics and strategic insights that directly inform growth priorities, portfolio choices, and business decisions.

Partner closely with Strategy, Marketing, Sales, Product Management, among others to frame critical business questions and prioritize insight and data transformation initiatives. Integrate Voice of Customer (VoC) with Market Context: Fuse primary and secondary research, including Voice of Customer (VOC) data with macroeconomic indicators to build a 360-degree view of market and customer needs and shifting value chains. Develop a connected view of the market, customer, and competitive landscape.

Operationalize Proprietary Market Intelligence: Develop Albemarle's proprietary market perspective, combining internal commercial expertise with external data, market signals and demand-elasticity indicators. Scale Foresight via Advanced Analytics and AI: Build predictive scenario planning, demand forecasting, and decision-support capabilities, leveraging AI and intelligent automation to identify market inflection points before they happen. Lead and Inspire High-Impact Team: Develop a high-performing analytics team focused on commercial relevance, insights storytelling, continuous improvement and driving measurable enterprise growth.

Lead transformation initiatives that simplify processes, improve speed to insight, and embed analytics, AI, and automation into day-to-day business operations. Drive adoption of insights, tools, and new ways of working: through compelling narratives, visualizations, executive-ready communication, and change leadership. What you will bring Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Economics, Business, Statistics, Market Research, or a related field.

Experience: 10+ years of experience in commercial strategy, market intelligence, business insights, or analytics transformation roles. Leadership: 5+ years of experience leading and developing analytics, insights, decision-support, or analytics transformation-focused teams Strategic Capability: Proven ability to translate business questions into analytical approaches and actionable insights that shape decisions and drive business outcomes. Proven ability to build market sizing models (TAM/SAM/SOM) and execute market share analysis that successfully shape commercial growth strategies.

Data Integration: Strong experience integrating disparate commercial data, customer research, and external market indicators using BI, visualization, and analytical tools. Change Management: Experience leading transformation initiatives and applying AI or automation tools to improve decision-making speed, workflows, and commercial effectiveness. Great If You Also Have: Advanced degree (MBA, Master's, or PhD) in Analytics, Economics, Business or Market Research.

Deep experience in B2B specialty chemicals, advanced materials, or highly technical industrial value chains. Advanced expertise in economic modeling, predictive demand forecasting, scenario planning, competitor benchmarking, and pricing elasticity for commercial decision support. Exceptional executive communication and insight storytelling skills - the ability to turn complex market data into a clear, compelling commercial narrative.

Experience building and AI-enabled market-sensing tools or automated market and competitive intelligence workflows. Proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders to shift from internal product-centric planning to market-back strategy setting and execution key business priorities and transformation opportunities. Experience building market viewpoints, proprietary insight models, or enterprise intelligence capabilities.
