Job description

This role is a Hybrid Role: Employees are expected to work from our Mississauga office 3 days per week and may work remotely the remaining days

Overview:

Reporting to the Director, Customer Business Development, this role is accountable for leading the development, coordination, and execution of the full customer business plan for Shoppers Drug Mart's mass business, one of Revlon's largest and most strategically important customer portfolios. The Senior Manager Customer Business Development serves as a key business leader, shaping an integrated Revlon and customer go-to-market strategy that drives profitable growth, strengthens customer partnerships, and delivers excellence in execution across head office and store environments. This role partners across multiple levels of the organization to influence decisions, align cross-functional teams, and ensure achievement of business objectives across a critical and complex mass-channel account.

Responsibilities:

  • Owns the development, execution, and ongoing optimization of annual and joint business plans for Shoppers Drug Mart's mass business, one of Revlon's largest customer portfolios, ensuring alignment to Revlon's commercial priorities and the customer's growth strategy.
    • Leverages customer, market, and point-of-sale data to identify risks, opportunities, and strategic actions that drive profitable growth.
    • Monitors weekly and monthly business performance, leads gap analysis, and drives corrective action plans to improve results against forecast and plan.
    • Builds and maintains customer-specific promotional, flyer, and display plans that support executional excellence and business objectives.
    • Provides regular business updates to customer and internal stakeholders, including performance trends, business risks, and recommendations to close gaps and capture opportunities.
    • Partners proactively with internal and external stakeholders to align priorities, resolve issues, and advance business goals.
    • Shapes strategic business-building plans to capitalize on market opportunities, mitigate risk, and strengthen customer performance.
    • Integrates Revlon's commercial strategy with the customer's go-to-market priorities to deliver a cohesive and competitive growth plan
  • Leads the shipment forecast and demand planning process in partnership with Demand Planning to improve forecast accuracy, inventory health, and service levels.
    • Identifies risks and opportunities to the forecast and presents recommendations in demand review meetings.
    • Partners cross-functionally to implement plans that support demand, minimize disruption, and maximize commercial results.
  • Partners with Customer Logistics to monitor weekly orders, inventory reporting, and service issues, ensuring timely resolution of barriers to order flow and execution.
  • Leads customer negotiations to deliver mutually profitable growth and strengthen the long-term business partnership.
    • Partners with Marketing and customer buying teams to develop and execute customer-specific programs that support strategic priorities.
    • Evaluates program performance and recommends future strategies based on results, ROI, and business impact.
    • Reviews planogram productivity and identifies opportunities to strengthen assortment, space, and in-store productivity.
  • Builds, leads, and sustains strong internal and external relationships that support collaboration, execution, and achievement of customer and company objectives.
  • Owns the Market Development Fund (MDF) strategy and budget for the customer's brands, ensuring investments are aligned to business priorities and deliver profitable returns.
    • Determines investment requirements based on business plans, customer priorities, and ROI analysis.
    • Builds the business case and secures alignment for incremental investment where appropriate.
    • Monitors actual spend versus plan to ensure budget adherence and maximize return on investment.
    • Oversees timely processing and reconciliation of account claims in line with approved investments.
  • Leads return-risk mitigation strategies to protect profitability and reduce exposure across the account.
    • Directs timely shutoff of discontinued SKUs based on inventory levels and customer sell-through.
    • Implements markdown strategies where financially beneficial and aligned to business objectives.
    • Reviews inventory allocations for new items and bonus packs to support effective sell-in and minimize return risk.
  • Leads, coaches, and develops direct and indirect reports, fostering strong performance, capability building, and succession readiness within the team.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field, with 7+ years of progressive account management or customer business development experience within Beauty, CPG, and/or Mass channels, including leadership of large, complex, national mass customer accounts.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Progressive experience leading strategic customer accounts, preferably with SDM and/or LCL, including accountability for large, complex, high-profile mass customer businesses with significant revenue and organizational visibility.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including experience in joint business planning, customer strategy, forecasting, and financial management.
  • Advanced negotiation, influencing, and communication skills, with the ability to build credibility across customer and internal leadership levels.
  • Strong analytical capability, including use of syndicated data, point-of-sale data, and customer systems to identify opportunities and inform strategy.
  • Ability to translate strategy into actionable, results-driven plans while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional environments, with the ability to align stakeholders, resolve issues, and drive execution.
  • Strong customer orientation and business judgment, with the ability to anticipate needs, identify solutions, and act with ownership.
  • Proven people leadership capabilities, including coaching, developing talent, providing timely feedback, and building high-performing teams.
  • Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments, make sound decisions, and deliver with a high degree of accuracy and accountability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of cosmetics, consumer packaged goods, or related industries is preferred.

Revlon is unable to sponsor or transfer employment visas for this role; candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

The base pay range for this position is C$ 105,000.00 - C$ 132,000.00/ year; however base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and geographic location. Certain positions may also be eligible for short-term incentives as part of total compensation.

Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits. Employees are covered by the co-paid basic life insurance policy and short-term disability insurance. Other benefits offered to employees include but are not limited to the following: long-term disability, healthcare spending accounts, Employee and Family Assistance Program, Health & Fitness Reimbursement etc. Employees are also able to enroll in our Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) and Registered Pension Plan (RPP).

Employees will also receive 3 weeks of vacation, pro-rated based on date of hire for the 1st year of employment and twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Vacation will depend on role.
