Apex Placement & Consulting is seeking an experienced Sales Director to drive regional and national business growth. This is an opportunity for a proven staffing sales professional who understands how to build relationships, develop strategic workforce solutions and close complex opportunities across multiple locations and markets.

The Sales Director will be responsible for identifying and securing new business, expanding Apex’s presence with regional and national organizations and developing lasting partnerships with key decision-makers. The ideal candidate is a strategic, relationship-driven seller who is equally comfortable prospecting, presenting solutions, negotiating agreements and guiding new accounts through implementation.

What Your Day Will Look Like
New Business Development
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy focused on regional and national staffing opportunities
  • Identify prospective clients through research, networking, referrals and targeted outreach
  • Build relationships with executives, HR leaders, procurement teams and other workforce decision-makers
  • Conduct discovery meetings to understand clients’ workforce challenges, hiring goals and service expectations
  • Create customized staffing and workforce solutions based on each client’s needs
  • Lead client presentations, capabilities meetings and proposal discussions
  • Manage opportunities throughout the complete sales cycle, from initial outreach through signed agreement
  • Maintain consistent prospecting activity and a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities
Strategic and National Account Growth
  • Develop opportunities involving multiple facilities, markets or geographic regions
  • Build relationships across multiple levels of a prospective client organization
  • Identify opportunities to expand services, locations and workforce solutions
  • Navigate complex decision-making and procurement processes
  • Partner with leadership to develop pricing, service models and implementation strategies
  • Participate in RFPs, presentations, contract negotiations and client business reviews
  • Monitor market trends and identify industries or regions with strong growth potential
Partnership and Implementation
  • Collaborate with recruiting and operations teams to ensure proposed solutions can be delivered successfully
  • Communicate client expectations, hiring needs, service requirements and projected volumes
  • Support a smooth transition from sales into implementation and ongoing account management
  • Remain engaged with new clients to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for expansion
  • Serve as a trusted workforce partner who brings insight, responsiveness and practical solutions to each relationship
  • Represent Apex at conferences, networking events, industry meetings and client engagements
What We’re Looking For
  • At least three years of successful B2B sales experience within staffing or a comparable industry, such as manufacturing, payroll services, insurance or another business-to-business service environment
  • Demonstrated experience developing business on a regional or national level
  • A proven record of securing new clients and achieving sales goals
  • Experience managing longer, more complex sales cycles involving multiple decision-makers
  • The ability to understand client challenges and develop customized, consultative solutions
  • Confidence communicating with executive-level, HR and procurement stakeholders
  • Experience with proposals, pricing discussions, RFPs and contract negotiations
  • Strong presentation, relationship-building and consultative selling skills
  • Ability to create and execute a strategic business-development plan
  • Excellent organization, follow-through and pipeline-management skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel for client meetings, presentations and industry events
  • Experience using a CRM or other sales-tracking technology
  • Interest in learning the staffing industry and becoming well-versed in Apex’s workforce solutions
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience selling high-volume contract, contract-to-hire or direct-hire staffing services
  • Existing relationships with regional or national workforce decision-makers
  • Experience developing multisite or enterprise-level staffing partnerships
  • Familiarity with implementation planning and national account launches
  • Previous experience mentoring or leading staffing sales professionals
