Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
Southern Admissions Student Ambassadors represent Southern Seminary and the Office of Admissions to prospective students, families, influencers, and friends of Southern Seminary and Boyce College. Ambassadors play a significant role in the overall recruiting efforts of the Admissions Office and in the broader success of Southern. They primarily serve by assisting Admissions in engaging prospective students by hosting campus visits, leading campus tours, attending recruiting events, and administrative work (data entry, phone calls, thank you notes, etc.). Ambassadors are passionate about articulating and displaying the value of Southern to future students by sharing their story and experience here at Southern. This role serves as an excellent opportunity to serve students and families, work alongside Admissions, and share the story of how the Lord is working in and through Southern Seminary.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The employee in this position will have the following essential job functions:
  • Must be available to work two days per week for a total of 5 hours per week
  • Must be available to lead a campus tour (1-2 PM) at least once per week
  • Attend one training session at the beginning of each semester
  • Must be available to attend at least 2 admissions recruiting events each semester
  • Attend at least 75% of weekly Ambassador meetings
  • Attend and work Preview Day each semester (includes one additional day of required training the week of Preview Day)
  • Attend at least 3 call nights per semester

Performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
The employee in this position must have the following essential qualifications:
  • Love for SBTS and its mission
  • Strong character, maturity, and reliability
  • Servanthood mentality
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively manage their time

EDUCATION:
The person in this position should be currently enrolled as a student at Southern Seminary.
EXPERIENCE:
Customer service experience preferred but not required.
SUPERVISION:
The person in this position will supervise no one.
The person in this position will report to the Associate Director of Admissions for Southern.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The person in this position will work in a traditional office environment.
EQUIPMENT:
The person in this position will use the following equipment: standard office equipment.
