Job description

Copper Mountain Resort is a vacation destination located 75 miles west of Denver, Colorado in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Three vibrant, pedestrian-friendly village areas host lodging, retail outlets, restaurants, bars, and family activities. During the winter months, Copper's world-class terrain offers skiing and riding for all ages and abilities. Each summer, the mountain transforms into a playground for hikers, mountain bikers, and anyone seeking a genuine Colorado experience. Copper Mountain Resort is also home to Woodward Copper action-sports camps, programs, and training facility.

Job Title: Winter 26/27: Snowmaking Level 2

Job Status: Seasonal

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation:Proposed hiring rate of $22.00to $24.40+.actualpay will be adjusted based on experience.

  • Benefits:This is a seasonal position eligible for seasonpassfor employees/dependents and privileges at several other resorts.Several discount programs (i.e.food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.)alsoavailable.

Job Summary:

Accountable for carrying out assignments from the crewforeman. Includes making quality snow in the highest volumes possible,knowandunderstandsnowmakingsystem, both operations and maintenance,operateandmaintaindepartment equipment and tools. Provide training andassistanceto Level I Snowmakers based on prior Snowmaking experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate snowmaking equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Offer continual training andassistanceof the standard operational and safety practices to the Level I Snowmakers.

  • Make snow according to all standard operating practices and safety procedures as instructedand oroutlined in the manuals set forth by Copper Mountain Resort.

  • Operate all transportation vehicles as per the standard operating procedures.

  • Undertake general building maintenance and housekeeping on a daily basis.

  • Maintain snowmaking equipment as directed.

  • Ensure slopes are properly markedand orsigned when snowmaking is in progress on open slopes.

  • Assistin effective communication with the otherdepartments,whenrequired.

  • Assistwith all other duties assigned.

  • Overtime may berequired.

Basic Requirements:

  • Able to perform in severe or inclement outdoor conditions for sustained periods.

  • Able to lift 75 lbs.

  • Must have a valid US Driver's license

  • Must be a proficient skier/rider

  • High School or equivalent

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • This position may require the use of a mountain radio/walkie-talkies for communication

Preferred Experience and Special Skills:

  • Snowmaking experience 1-2 years

  • Snow cat experience

  • Red Cross/First Aid experience

  • Must be in good physical condition

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Colorado Snowmobile Certified
