You are more than just your resume; you are a reflection of your achievements, the knowledge you've gained, and the personal interests that shape who you are.

Position Overview

The Salesforce Platform Architect is the lead technologist of the Salesforce Center of Excellence at Zelis. Reporting to the VP of Enterprise Applications, this role goes beyond solution design, it owns the architectural vision, drives platform strategy, and curates the technical roadmap that enables scalable, secure, and future-proof Salesforce innovation across the enterprise. The architect will serve as the steward of architectural integrity, guiding teams through complex integrations, modernization efforts, and multi-cloud alignment.

Strategic Responsibilities

Architectural Vision & Strategy

  • Define and evolve the long-term architectural vision for Salesforce at Zelis, ensuring alignment with enterprise IT strategy, business goals, and emerging technologies.

  • Champion platform scalability, modularity, and extensibility across Sales, Service, Experience, and Analytics Clouds.

  • Evaluate and recommend implementation patterns for new (to Zelis) Salesforce capabilities like Data Cloud, Agentforce and Mulesoft.

Technical Roadmap Ownership

  • Develop and maintain a living technical roadmap that outlines platform evolution, major releases, refactoring initiatives, and innovation pilots.

  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and engineering leads to prioritize roadmap items based on business value, technical feasibility, and risk.

  • Ensure roadmap transparency across stakeholders and proactively manage dependencies and trade-offs.

Architectural Governance & Patterns

  • Establish and enforce architectural standards, reusable design patterns, and documentation practices across all Salesforce teams.

  • Maintain a library of Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) to ensure traceability and consistency.

  • Lead architecture reviews, technical design sessions, and solution assessments for all major initiatives.

Integration Leadership

  • Design robust integration strategies between Salesforce and enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, data lakes, marketing platforms, identity providers).

  • Define API standards, middleware usage (e.g., Mulesoft), and event-driven architectures for real-time data exchange.

  • Ensure integrations are secure, performant, and compliant with HIPAA, SOC 2, and other regulatory frameworks.

Tactical Responsibilities

  • Conduct org health assessments and performance tuning across environments.

  • Lead proof-of-concepts for new technologies (e.g., AI, LLMs, DC) within the Salesforce ecosystem.

  • Mentor developers and tech leads on Apex, integration best practices, and platform limitations.

  • Collaborate with DevOps to ensure CI/CD pipelines align with architectural principles.

  • Partner with data architects to ensure data lineage, governance, and analytics readiness.

Desired Qualifications

  • 8+ years in enterprise architecture, with 5+ years focused on Salesforce platform design.

  • Salesforce Certified Application Architect and System Architect credentials.

  • Deep expertise in Apex, Lightning Web Components, REST/SOAP APIs, and integration architecture.

  • Experience with Mulesoft, Heroku, Kafka, or other middleware/event platforms.

  • Strong understanding of security protocols, identity management, and compliance frameworks.

  • Prior experience in healthcare, fintech, or regulated industries.

  • Familiarity with microservices, containerization, and cloud-native design principles.

Please note at this time we are unable to proceed with candidates who require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
