Job description

TeamHealth, in partnership with Dignity Health St. Joseph's Medical Center, is seeking an experienced emergency medicine physician to serve as ultrasound director for our growing academic EM program in Stockton, California. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of ultrasound education within a high-volume, high-acuity emergency department while working alongside a dedicated team of physician educators. As ultrasound director, you will play a key leadership role in expanding ultrasound education throughout the institution and supporting the development of a future emergency medicine ultrasound fellowship.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership for the emergency medicine ultrasound program
  • Oversee ultrasound education for residents, faculty, and future fellows
  • Direct ultrasound quality assurance initiatives and image review processes
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and identify operational and maintenance needs
  • Support the development and growth of an emergency medicine ultrasound fellowship
  • Coordinate educational programming, workshops, and faculty development activities
  • Promote scholarly activity, research, and innovation in point-of-care ultrasound
  • Foster collaboration and networking opportunities for faculty and trainees
  • Expand ultrasound utilization and education across residency programs and clinical departments

Qualifications
  • MD or DO
  • Board certified in EM through the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM)
  • Completion of an Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship
  • Board eligible for Focused Practice Designation (FPD) in Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasonography (AEMUS)
  • Experience in ultrasound administration, education, and quality assurance
  • Passion for resident education, mentorship, and academic leadership
