OVERVIEW
The Director of Retail Learning sets the global strategy and vision for retail learning and capability development across the organization. This role owns the end-to-end learning ecosystem for frontline teams and leaders, ensuring training solutions improve store performance, support business priorities, and enable consistent execution at scale.
As a senior leader within the Communications & Learning Center of Excellence, this role serves as a strategic partner to Retail and cross-functional leaders, shaping learning, change management, and adoption strategies for enterprise initiatives and ongoing business needs. The Director has a passion for making frontline jobs better and brings a strong point of view on modern learning approaches, governance, and measurement, while fostering innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Communications and Learning, this role leads and develops a high-performing team responsible for curriculum strategy, onboarding, initiative launches, and ongoing learning delivery and operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Define and lead the global retail learning strategy, aligning priorities, roadmaps, and investments to business goals and retail transformation initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and scale a best-in-class learning team responsible for onboarding, initiative launches, selling capability, and operational execution.
  • Serve as a senior partner to Retail Customer Experience, Communications, and leadership, providing governance over training prioritization, timing, funding, and calendar management across the store network.
  • Own the retail learning ecosystem, including digital course offerings, learning platforms, training libraries, and program architecture.
  • Establish enterprise standards, frameworks, and quality controls for learning content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment.
  • Drive measurement and performance management of learning through KPIs, analytics, and executive reporting; translate insights into action and continuous improvement.
  • Lead change management and adoption strategies that enable effective rollout of initiatives across large, distributed retail teams.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 7+ years of experience in retail learning, training, or organizational development, including 2+ years in a director-level role leading teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • Proven success building and scaling enterprise retail learning programs across large, geographically distributed store networks.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead change in complex, fast-moving retail environments.
  • Expertise in blended learning strategies and end-to-end learning journey design, including reinforcement, measurement, and manager enablement.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and executive communication skills, with the ability to translate strategy into clear, actionable learning solutions.
  • High level of proficiency in content creation and presentation tools (Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Canva); Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
  • Experience with LMS platforms and digital learning tools; Articulate 360 experience preferred.

The base salary range for this position is $165,000-$185,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company's total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
