Job Description:

The Mission Network and Cyber Technical Manager leads and directs experienced professionals working across multiple programs in the design of network infrastructure and cybersecurityย  for space-based remote sensing satellites in support of critical missions. The Technical Manager will lead ย portfolio execution and workforce development through hiring, staffing, career and talent development, and positive engagement initiatives. The Technical Manager will manage the implementation of technical strategies and recommend operational plans that directlyย impactย execution across their area of focus and the projects their teams support.


Essential Functions:

  • Provide functional management for 20-40 engineers with mission network development and implementation responsibilities as well as team members responsible for information security duties
  • Provide design engineering staffing and labor planning for programs, pursuits, and internal projects supporting space-based remote sensing payloads and systems as well as fully integrated Space Vehicles carrying different types of payloads.ย 
  • Lead training, talent development, engagement, retention, and overall management of the workforce, and provide coaching and leadership development for a direct staff of individual contributors
  • Meet program execution plans by working with your teams deployed across projectsย 
  • Support pursuits and proposals in the business,including review/approval of technical proposals and Basis of Estimates(BOEs) as needed.ย 
  • Ability to obtain government clearance.ย

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience directly managing employees in an integrated engineering organization.ย 
  • Experience with Mission Network System Design

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance is preferred.ย 
  • Broad management and leadership knowledge to lead cross-site project teams or manage across the function. Typically has mastery within a specific technical area or broadย expertiseย across multiple related job areas.ย 
  • Experience in Engineering leadership capacity (Supervisor, Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, Project Engineer, Cost Account Manager).ย 
  • Experience providing staffing for programs, pursuits, and internal effortsย 
  • Ability to coach, mentor and build relationships with internal and external organizations.ย
