Job description

Dual Group Hotel Sales Manager

Location: Remote — Texas preferred

Salary: $125K + 30% Bonus Potential

Travel: Approximately 6 trips annually to Hawaii

Portfolio: Two Resort Properties | 1,500 Total Guest Rooms | 65,000 Sq. Ft. Meeting Space (including outdoor)

Position Overview

We are seeking an accomplished, strategic, and highly motivated Dual Group Hotel Sales Manager to lead group sales efforts for two resorts totaling approximately 1,500 guest rooms and 65,000 square feet of meeting space. (including outdoor)

This is a remote position, with a strong preference for candidates based in Texas. The ideal candidate will have established Hawaii hotel/resort sales experience, particularly within the group, meetings, and incentives segments or candidates with a strong track record selling destination resorts or large-scale resort properties will also be considered.

This individual will be responsible for generating and converting group business, developing key accounts, cultivating relationships with meeting planners and industry partners, and representing both properties in key feeder markets. The role requires a sophisticated understanding of the group sales cycle, destination resort sales, and the unique needs of meeting planners booking large-scale programs.

Approximately six trips to Hawaii annually will be required for property visits, client appointments, industry events, sales missions, and other business-development activities.

Key Responsibilities

Group Sales & Revenue Generation

  • Develop and execute strategic group sales plans for both properties to achieve or exceed room-night, revenue, ADR, and other assigned sales goals.
  • Prospect, qualify, solicit, negotiate, and close group business across key market segments, including corporate, association, incentive, SMERF, and other relevant group markets.
  • Identify new business opportunities while strategically growing existing accounts.
  • Manage the sales process from initial inquiry and lead generation through contracting, conversion, and turnover to the appropriate hotel teams.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Collaborate with revenue management to optimize group pricing, dates, inventory, and overall profitability.
  • Develop strategies to maximize total account value across both properties.

Account Management & Business Development

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with meeting planners, corporate clients, third-party intermediaries, destination management companies, and other industry partners.
  • Develop a targeted account portfolio and establish consistent touchpoints with high-value customers.
  • Conduct proactive prospecting through telephone calls, virtual meetings, email campaigns, networking, sales missions, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Develop and execute account-specific action plans for key customers and feeder markets.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell both properties based on client needs, availability, and business objectives.

Hawaii & Destination Resort Sales

  • Serve as a knowledgeable sales representative for the properties and the Hawaii destination.
  • Leverage existing relationships within the Hawaii meetings and group marketplace.
  • Participate in approximately six annual trips to Hawaii for client meetings, property familiarization, sales strategy sessions, and industry activities.
  • Conduct sales calls and presentations in key domestic feeder markets as appropriate.
  • Stay current on destination trends, competitive resorts, airlift, group demand patterns, and market conditions that influence Hawaii group business.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work closely with hotel leadership, operations, catering/convention services, revenue management, marketing, and reservations teams to ensure a seamless group sales process.
  • Communicate client expectations clearly and ensure successful handoff of contracted business to the appropriate operational teams.
  • Participate in regular sales strategy and performance meetings for both properties.
  • Share market intelligence, competitive insights, and customer feedback to support broader commercial strategies.
  • Represent the properties professionally at industry events, client functions, and other networking opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Proven success in hotel/resort group sales, selling large destination resorts.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve or exceed group sales and revenue goals.
  • Strong understanding of the group sales process, including prospecting, contracting, negotiation, and conversion.
  • Experience working with meeting planners, corporate accounts, associations, incentive groups, and/or other group segments.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a substantial pipeline and multiple priorities remotely.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to Hawaii approximately six times per year.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication and collaboration with property-based teams.

Preferred:

  • Direct Hawaii hotel/resort sales experience and an established network of Hawaii meeting planner and industry relationships.
  • Experience selling a destination resort or large-scale resort portfolio.
  • Existing relationships with national or regional meeting planners, third-party intermediaries, DMCs, incentive houses, and corporate accounts.
  • Experience selling groups requiring significant room blocks and meeting/event space.
  • Experience managing accounts across multiple hotel properties.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a relationship-driven sales professional and strategic business developer who understands how to sell the complete destination resort experience—not simply guestrooms.

You are someone who:

  • Has a strong track record of producing group room nights and revenue.
  • Knows how to create demand rather than simply respond to leads.
  • Can confidently sell two properties while understanding the unique positioning of each.
  • Has strong credibility with meeting planners and industry partners.
  • Is comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
  • Is highly organized, responsive, and accountable.
  • Understands the importance of both short-term production and long-term account development.
  • Can effectively represent the properties and destination in the marketplace.
  • Brings energy, creativity, and persistence to business development.

Performance Expectations

Success in this position will be measured through achievement of established portfolio sales goals, including:

  • Group room-night production
  • Group revenue and profitability
  • ADR and overall account value
  • New account acquisition
  • Conversion of qualified group opportunities
  • Production from key feeder markets
  • Account retention and growth
  • Sales pipeline health and forecast accuracy
  • Client and meeting-planner relationships
  • Cross-selling opportunities between the two properties

Work Environment & Travel

This is a remote-based position, with a preference for candidates located in Texas. The position requires a high degree of self-direction, virtual collaboration, and communication with teams located at the properties.

Travel to Hawaii will be required approximately six times per year, in addition to occasional domestic travel for sales missions, trade shows, customer events, and industry conferences as business needs dictate.

Why Join Us

This is an opportunity to play a significant role in the group sales strategy for a substantial two-property resort portfolio, representing approximately 1,500 guestrooms and 35,000 square feet of meeting space.

The position offers an experienced resort sales professional the opportunity to leverage an existing Hawaii network—or bring proven destination-resort sales expertise—to drive meaningful group business and long-term account growth.
