Real Estate Underwriter
Lawrence, NY
$130k - $160k + Bonus
Our client is seeking an experienced Real Estate Underwriter to join their acquisitions team. This role focuses on analyzing commercial real estate investments, building financial models, and evaluating complex deals across multiple asset classes.
Responsibilities
• Underwrite commercial real estate acquisitions and financing opportunities.
• Build and maintain Excel financial models and investment analyses.
• Analyze deals, identify risks and opportunities, and think outside the box.
• Evaluate bridge loans, first mortgages, and preferred equity investments.
• Conduct market research and review due diligence materials.
• Prepare investment memos and deal summaries.
• Work closely with brokers, lenders, attorneys, and third-party consultants throughout the transaction process.
Requirements
• 3-6 years of commercial real estate underwriting experience required.
• Must have underwriting experience with industrial, retail, mixed-use, and/or hotel properties.
• Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Great with numbers and able to analyze complex investment opportunities.
• Experience working directly with brokers.
• Ability to analyze deals, identify opportunities, and think outside the box.
• Experience in commercial real estate private equity, debt funds, investment banking, or commercial real estate lending preferred.
