Fundraising Development Manager

Houston, TX


Our client, a historic Christian retirement community focused on providing tailored care to their residents, is seeking a Development Manager to join their team. Amidst an exciting capital campaign renaissance of growth and remodeling, they need the right fundraising professional to help accelerate the organization and the ability to provide continued exceptional care for senior adults through physical, spiritual, psychological and social well-being.


The ideal candidate is someone highly organized, self-motivated, and focused with outstanding organizational skills. This role will partner with the CEO and Development Director to coordinate aspects of the capital campaign, manage special events, database management, grant writing, marketing and communications.


Responsibilities:

  • Schedule meetings and prepare talking points and presentations for Campaign Committee Leadership, Board Members and management
  • Manage donor pipelines, prospect research and tracking, and maintenance of donor timelines in Raisers Edge
  • Ensure pledges are documented, and donor recognition is recorded and donor is acknowledged in timely fashion
  • Write campaign correspondence, including assistance with solicitation proposals, meeting requests and follow-ups
  • Work with selected vendors on donor recognition signage
  • Manage all fundraising and campaign events, including logistics and event elements such as public outreach, invitations, food/beverage, etc.
  • Coordinate committee meetings and compile action items
  • Manage volunteer programs, including volunteer orientation and stewardship of volunteers
  • Track and monitor spending of restricted funds


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • A minimum of 3+ years in event planning, fundraising, or a nonprofit setting
  • MS Office experience required; experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Raisers Edge strongly preferred
  • Excellent grammar, writing, editorial, research and speaking skills
  • Ability to manage projects successfully under tight deadlines
