Description
The Data Specialist position provides administrative support by assisting with data entry and management of various database systems. The Data Specialist collaborates with GRID Support to keep the databases running reliably, ensures that data is secure, and gives users the tools and education needed to input and export accurate data. This job requires working closely with the members of multiple teams, experience working with Microsoft Office products, database experience, and an understanding of data entry best practices.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Primary point of contact for questions pertaining to database usage at the project level.
  • Determine client reporting needs and coordinate with GRID Support if new reports are needed.
  • Identify required data points to be utilized for each project.
  • Determine team members responsible for tracking deliverables in the database.
  • Establish data entry and reporting workflows and processes for each project.
  • Ensuring accurate and efficient data entry through training and QA/QC of data.
  • Verify the completeness and accuracy of data entered by other parties.
  • Review data for deficiencies or errors and make corrections as needed.
  • Coordinate corrections to data-related issues with Project Team.
  • Coordinate role/permission needs for the Project Team to the GRID team.
  • Troubleshoot functional issues to determine the cause.
  • Coordinate resolution of functional issues with Project Team.
  • Coordinate resolution of technical issues/requests with the GRID team.
  • Assist with testing and approving database enhancements.
  • Provide training to users.
  • Provide demos of database function to employees and clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.
