YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Minimum 10-15 years' experience as Sr. Manager or Director in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Substantial experience in Quality.
  • Strong knowledge of industry-specific regulations, standards, and quality control methodologies.
  • Black Belt and/or Lean Expert.
  • Ability to deep dive/analyze data and draw conclusions leading to improvement initiative recommendations.
  • Ability to coach peers and displays adequate communication to influence levels above.
  • Experience and knowledge of quality tools (Problem solving, DFMEA, A3, CP, PFMEA, 8D, RCA, ISO9001)
  • Participating regular operating meetings around customer facing metrics including trend analysis and improvement plans for Field Services, Repairs, Parts, and Engineering Services.

The annual base salary range for this position in Connecticut is $179,000 - $224,500. This position is incentive plan eligible. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage multiple sites efficiently exceeding customer (Internal and external) Quality standards.
  • Build and develop a high-performing leadership team across quality functions.
  • Provide executive oversight of customer quality to drive customer satisfaction, retention, and manufacturable product design.
  • Provide quality coaching to staff, peers, associates and management team, thereby enhancing their skills in efficient execution of procedures to drive improved customer satisfaction.
  • Deep dive understanding about Root Cause analysis (Problem solving).
  • Timely problem identification & resolution of production line work stoppages to support customer on time deliveries.
  • Manage teams in areas of quality management/operational excellence in a high volume and diversified manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborating with other department heads to integrate quality control systems into the overall manufacturing and production processes.
  • Handling customer feedback and implementing necessary changes to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Represent Quality Engineering on new product development teams and smoothly transition new designs into production.
  • Support Business Unit financial objectives through management of the Cost of Non-Conformances (Scrap/Warranty).
  • Communicate with customers and government quality representatives on quality issues
  • Implement and maintain a quality management system (QMS) by flowing down customer/government quality clauses & requirements into internal procedures, i.e. a sustainable QMS that supports Business Unit objectives via ISO 9001/AS 9100 certifications.
  • Review Engineering Orders and participate in new design product/design review in order to ensure quality requirements are identified and captured in appropriate documentation.
  • Develop, prepare and implement Quality Program Plans for new and existing customers and products.
  • Coordinate customer evaluations for reported product failures or other complaints and assist in corrective action.
  • Participate in MRB activities, provide guidance with customer MRB requirements and assist in corrective action.
  • Coordinate internal quality audits and report status of QMS compliance to management.
  • Participate with cross-functional teams to implement Operational Excellence Initiatives (6 Sigma, Continuous Flow Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, etc.) in any manufacturing shop.
  • Provide status of internal and external corrective actions, ensure responses are adequate to prevent recurrence of nonconformance and report progress to management.
  • Defining quality standards: Define the criteria for quality and set expectations for each team or department.
  • Developing and implementing quality control systems and protocols that meet industry standards and regulations.
