Position Purpose
Mercy Care Atlanta is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Director of Quality & Compliance to lead and advance our organization-wide Quality Improvement, Patient Safety, Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, and Performance Excellence programs across all Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) locations.
Reporting as a senior leader within the organization, this role provides strategic oversight of quality initiatives that improve patient outcomes, ensure regulatory and accreditation readiness, support value-based care, and promote a culture of continuous improvement. The Director serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providers, operational teams, and governance committees, ensuring accountability for clinical, operational, and population health outcomes while advancing Mercy Care's commitment to serving vulnerable and underserved populations.
What You Will Do
As the Director of Quality & Compliance, you will:
  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of Mercy Care's Quality Management and Performance Improvement programs.
  • Establish quality goals, performance indicators, and organizational dashboards to monitor clinical, operational, financial, and patient experience outcomes.
  • Direct enterprise-wide quality improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA, and other evidence-based methodologies.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance activities, including HRSA requirements, UDS reporting, FTCA, HIPAA, accreditation standards, payer audits, and Operational Site Visit readiness.
  • Lead patient safety and risk management programs, including incident reporting, root cause analysis, risk mitigation, and corrective action planning.
  • Provide executive oversight of population health analytics and use data to drive health equity initiatives and improve community outcomes.
  • Chair quality-related committees and serve as the primary liaison to Board Quality Committees.
  • Oversee provider credentialing, privileging, peer review, and clinical quality assurance activities.
  • Develop, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of quality, compliance, population health, and risk management professionals.
  • Partner with clinical, operational, and technology leaders to strengthen reporting capabilities, performance management, and organizational effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Nursing, Health Informatics, Business Administration, or a related healthcare field required.
  • Seven to ten years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare quality, compliance, patient safety, risk management, or performance improvement.
  • Five or more years of leadership experience within an FQHC, ambulatory care organization, health system, hospital, or managed care environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise-wide quality and compliance initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of HRSA requirements, UDS reporting, accreditation standards, value-based care, and population health management.
  • Experience with EPIC and healthcare analytics tools preferred.
  • Preferred certifications: CPHQ, CHC, CPHRM, and/or Lean Six Sigma.
